What Happens When You Turn A Rug Upside Down?

We own a pet dog in our household, notorious for shedding plenty, which leaves me vacuuming our floors, including all rugs, on an almost daily basis. However, simply running a vacuum over the surface, while effectively capturing pet hair and visible debris, doesn’t entirely deep clean the rugs. For an intensive rug cleanse, you should consider turning them over.

In a Facebook post, Holly Vogler revealed a surprising discovery when she decided to flip her living room rug and vacuum the underside. A significant amount of dirt, dust, and other indistinguishable particles fell onto the floor. The attached picture illustrates the quantity of dirt extracted from the rug after the third round of this cleaning method!  :

Once you’ve successfully utilized this method and are confident your carpets are dirt-free, a deodorizing process with baking soda can be followed. Generously dust the rug with baking soda and leave it for a few hours. Once the set time is over, vacuum the rug again to remove the baking soda. This process helps the baking soda to absorb and eliminate odors, leaving your carpets smelling fresh and immaculate.

Armed with these straightforward yet powerful tips, it’s time to end the neglect of your home carpets! Start implementing these practices today and witness a dramatic difference in your carpet cleanliness.
